Phone consultation

A 15 min consultation during which I ask you questions to determine if we are a good fit. You may also ask questions about my practice.

Upon mutual agreement, we schedule our first session.


The Therapy Process

First sessions

The first two sessions are approximately 50 min. These sessions are usually spent getting to know one another. I will ask you questions about the issues you would like to work in therapy, the history of these issues, your background, your life, and your expectations from therapy. These sessions will also provide an opportunity for you to ask me questions about the therapy process and our work together. After the first two sessions, if we decide to continue therapy together, we will identify what our goals for therapy are and a treatment plan.

Ongoing Sessions

Ongoing sessions are usually weekly and 45 minutes in length. Some sessions may be longer depending on your needs, diagnoses, or treatment plan. Regular, weekly meetings are most effective in fostering a strong therapeutic relationship and accomplishing your goals. As treatment progresses, we may decide to increase or decrease the frequency of our meetings depending on progress and other circumstances.
